By the way, IMHO we do too much for nothing, in particular SDLT advice. If we don't value what we do, how can expect clients to?
Show clients this video if they expect work to be done for free, like checking auction packs, advising on Higher Rate SDLT and so on. After all, they woudn't work for free - just see what happens if you go round asking other people to do things on spec for the promise of possible future work.
